Thought you might want to know; our science club field trip this weekend was a grand success. The science club sponsors, Mrs. Masterson, Mrs. Holman, and Ms. Frye took 37 students and 3 spare adults to Fernbank Museum to participate in their Urban Watch program. We hiked 2 miles through the forest on the property, learning about indigenous wildlife. Currently, we are studying the deciduous forest biome, so this up close and person program was perfect! After lunch, the group pulled invasive species (English Ivy) along a trail behind the museum. I was shocked at how willing and eager the everyone was to dive in and yank weeds.
The only glitch was with the bus driver getting lost and being 40 minutes late. That put quite a bit of stress on us trying to figure out what to do. She finally showed up and all was well.
