We have spent the majority of this week looking into how materials go in and out of a cell.
We have addressed such vocabulary words and topics as:
Semi-permeable membrane which is a synonym for selectively permeable
Passive Transport (which requires no energy)
Diffusion, a type of passive transport where materials travel from an area of high concentration of the material to an area of lower concentration (less crowded).
Osmosis, is the diffusion of water
Active Transport (which does require energy) it is the movement of materials from an area of low concentration to an area of higher concentration (more crowded)
We also looked at endocytosis and exocytosis
Thursday, students began to write the abstract for their science fair project. We will return to the computer lab on Monday to finish the abstract. A copy is due Thursd
